CodeSure™: Code Reading and Verification |
|
Machine Vision Consulting offers several product solutions for reading and verifying barcodes and alphanumeric characters via our
CodeSure™ product line.

Handheld Code Reader, 1D and 2D Barcodes [MVC-CodeSure™-HHR]:
The MVC CodeSure™-HHR handheld ID code reader is used when manual scanning of 1D or 2D barcodes is required to enter barcode data into a
Track & Trace system, database, spreadsheet, or other data management system provided by the client. The barcodes should be well-formed and
printed on a clean, flat background.

|
Fixed-Mount ID Code Reader, 1D and 2D Barcodes [MVC-CodeSure™-Mini]:
The MVC CodeSure™-Mini fixed-mount ID code reader is used when a 1D or 2D barcode needs to be read and transferred to a data
collection system in a production line environment. The barcode data is transferred via a USB or RS-232 serial connection to a data
collection system provided by the client. This ID barcode reader only reads the code that is presented and transfers the decoded string
of data. The ID code should be clearly printed on a clean background.

Fixed-Mount ID Code Reader, 1D and 2D Barcodes [MVC-CodeSure™-ID]:
|
|
The MVC CodeSure™-ID fixed-mount ID code reader is used when a 1D or 2D barcode needs to be read in a production
line environment. It differs from the CodeSure™-Mini in that, in addition to reading and transferring the ID code data, the CodeSure™-ID
can also be programmed to determine and indicate whether the expected code was presented and can verify the quality of the printed 1D
and 2D codes for printing process control purposes. This solution offers Ethernet based communication, RS-232 serial communication,
and a fuller set of vision functions.

Fixed-Mount Character Reading, Character Verification, and 1D and 2D Barcode Reading [MVC-CodeSure™-OCV]:
The MVC CodeSure™-OCV solution is used to verify well-printed alphanumeric characters on a clean background on labels and packaging.
Applicable marking techniques include pad printing, thermal transfer, and most document printing techniques. In most applications, the
expected code data would be entered into the vision system and the system would confirm that the expected code has been presented and
that it is legible. Codes that don't match the expect data or meet a quality threshold will be failed and rejected. Barcode reading tools
are also included.

Verify Character Strings on Inkjet Printed Surfaces, Including Can Ends and Jar Lids [MVC-CodeSure™-MAX]
|
|
The MVC CodeSure™-MAX solution is used to verify alphanumeric codes that have been printed with ink-jet technology or otherwise have
the potential for slight variations in print quality. The underlying software is trained on the printer's font file and tolerates
normal variations in the appearance of characters as they are printed on surfaces such as cans, jar lids, and packaging. CodeSure™-MAX
also handles codes that are presented in random orientations (rotated cans).
Being PC-based, CodeSure™-MAX may also be appropriate for very high speed code verification applications.

Note: The specific type of vision technology required to perform the specified functions is application dependent. Proper evaluation of actual client samples
should be performed to confirm that a particular vision package is capable of providing the required and expected functionality.
